I am now supposed to think about who the person is that I want to continue to grow into. I know that even if it does make me stressed sometimes I still want to be that perfectionist in life. I think by doing this it will push me to follow my dreams, it will make me into a better person. I am a healthy, well-fit, outgoing, energetic, hard worker, full of life and love of a person. Anything that I do I want to make better or at least do my very best. Sometimes I take too many things at once and mess up so then I have to take a step back and realize what I am doing and how I can make it better so I don't mess up again. I love being around family and friends and having a good time. I hope that later in life I am glad of who I have become.
I am going to DMACC campus next year in Ankeny. While I am at DMACC I hope to continue my education as well as making new friends. I am going to DMACC for Nursing. I talked about this in my "what are you passionate about" blog, but I hope that one day I can be making families more comfortable about whats going on with their child so that one day the family can be living a normal life. I know that there will be babies and children that I can't help but I want that feeling that I did everything I could to help that child. I can say that I will be prepared for it but in real life I will not be prepared for anything that happens except for knowing what to do medically wise of course. I talking more with emotions with the families. I want to work in the NICU or labor and deliver. I maybe could do Oncology which is cancer patients. When people ask me what I want to be when going off to college next year and I tell them that, they just have this look on their face that makes me feel good or they say "Morgan you're just the right person for that." It makes me feel that I am making a difference in the world.
Every little girl has a dream of getting married to your best friend and having little ones just like you running about the house. Now that I'm grown up and dating it's crazy to think that the person is out there that I will marry and hopefully have children with. I would love to have a husband! A person that I can count on and just know that with all my heart that he loves me with no doubt in my mind. With this man you have children and plan out your life and they play sports or are in dance. They learn to raise cattle and are in 4-H. They go to school and have a normal life....but as I know from my family that not everything goes as you pictured maybe not even how many children you have. You may have more or less. I just wish that one day I can be called an amazing nurse, a loving wife and an extraordinary mother.

Who I am.
I am who I am because of my family. My family is very important to me. Both sides of my family are very close to me. There are family members that I am closer to than other but we all love each other.
Charlie Rose Vanderpool, she is very good friend/sister to me. Shes the best sister ever because she never annoys me, never wants to borrow my clothes or make up, shes always listening to me, when I need her shes always right there with love and she doesn't care if I make mistakes. She is a 40 lb beauty. Charlie has tan hair and big beautiful hazel eyes with long eyelashes. Charlie is 6 years years old but is really 42 years old. Yes, you are thinking right she is a dog. The first time I met her I started tearing up because I was full of excitement and happiness that I finally have a dog! We got her in the summer of going into 6th grade. She was so tiny and was full of energy! That very first night we had her she was crying because we had her in her kennel and we barley slept! Cade, my brother, and I though it was funny because she sound like a monkey! oooohhhh aaaahhhh! There are so many memories with that its hard to just choose one. My family really likes to go to the farmers market. 1 because there is amazing food. 2 because there are really cool things to buy and 3 DOGS!! They are everywhere! So one Saturday my mom, grandma, and I went to the farmers market when Charlie was still a puppy. Now looking back on it, it was not a good idea. She got really nervous I think when seeing all the people that she forgot how to walk! haha We would walk one step and while looking at something someone would walk up to us and say "Aw what a cute dog, what kind of dog was she, how old, her name, and where we got her from." There was one lady that even asked to take a picture with her! We got down one street in an hour...I guess I just have the cutest dog in the world!
Another childhood memory is swimming! My mom is a teacher so she had summers off with us! When my brothers and I were little we would go to the public pool almost everyday! The pink slide is where I would be the whole time, my mom said. I loved it! I loved it so much that I thought one day I was big enough to try the BIG BLUE slide! This slide was on the big kid side of the pool but I didn't care. I ran straight over there to try it out. I didn't wait in line! Whats a line? All these kids are crazy why are they not going down the slide? I tried to go down the slide but the lady told me I couldn't and didn't care I tired and she pushed me back and said go find your mommy or daddy. I started crying I really wanted to go down the slide why wont they let me! A lady walked me to the front desk and had my mom called over the intercom. She came in and was very scared she was running around trying to find me! They told her I was in the deep end. She wasn't happiest with me.
What I Am Passionate About
I am passionate about Nursing. I want to work as a Nurse in
a couple of years after I have gotten my RN (Registered Nurse). Then work full
time and go to night school to receive my BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing).
As of right now I am a CNA. So I have made the first step into receiving my
degree. CNA is a Certified Nursing Assistant. This means that I can work in
nursing homes and hospitals.
In the nursing home I do all the work it seems like. If the resident is unable to help themselves get ready then you have to do it for them. A normal day at 6 a.m. we show up. Some residents are starting to wake up so you gather everything you need example clothing and then help them out of bed and to the bathroom to go to the bathroom. Then you change their depends or pad whichever one they wear. Then put their pants on them for the day, then their socks, and then their shoes. Some residents have special socks that have sticky things on the bottom so they don't fall. Some residents have ted hose which helps circulation, they have special wraps around their ankles too. Then you take off their night gown or sleeping shirt and out on their shirt or sweater for the day. Then you take them to the sink so you or they can brush their teeth and hair. Put on their lipstick and perfume or cologne. Then walk them or place them in their wheelchair and take them down to breakfast. Then repeat to who all the other residents are. The nursing home where I did my clinical has wings of the residents’ abilities.
Their is one resident that I will talk about but not say his name for confidentiality. He was in a car accident that left him completely paralyzed. This means that as a CNA and a nurse you have to do everything for him. He can't talk, feed himself, dress himself and is in a wheelchair. He also has special braces that we put on his arms and legs for when he lays in bed. The braces go on his forearms and around his fingers so that one day his arms and legs can be straight hopefully. It’s the same for his legs. One leg is worse than the other and curls up so that his foot can go against his thigh but the braces allow his leg to go straight. When you're feeding him every food has to be liquidize. He has learned how to swallow again so that's why he doesn't have a feeding tube. There's always a lot of food in his mouth so you're constantly putting the spoon in his mouth trying to push the food down so he will swallow the food. When feeding him you must be very patient. He eats very slow. Some residents like him, has to use special silverware. He uses a spoon that has rubber on it so you don't hurt his teeth. It looks a lot like a baby spoon. Some residents use bent spoons and forks and some can feed themselves they just eat very slow.
I put a lot of time and effort into my clinical and I have passed the class. This made me very happy and I felt successful. I am happy when I make other people better so that they can go home to their families.

First One
My name is Morgan Danyelle Vanderpool. I am named after my grandfather. His name is Danny Nevels.
I am eighteen years old and am currently a Senior at Indianola High School. My birthday is in July so I love having an early birthday because I get new advantages to things when I turn another year older and my friends are still a year younger. When I turned 16 everyone wanted my to drive them around it was fun but got old at times.
In high school I have accomplished many things that I am proud of myself for getting out there and doing achieving them. I am a 4 year varsity cross country runner. I have put in a lot of miles and dedication into my running career. Every summer we start official practice at the end of July and beginning of August, but to be in shape you must start right when summer starts. Its hot. Its sweaty. It gets old. I know that I am healthier when I get into shape before practice officially starts. I guess you could call me a health freak. I will go out to dinner for the big juicy cheeseburger and fries though. I am also a 4 year letter winner for Track too.
Throughout my life in running I have gone through many pairs of running shoes. I would say at least 8!! A pair for each season. Its crazy to think that one person can run that much but it really makes a difference in how you perform in the shoes. I actually just got new shoes for track season this year and I feel like I have a little more bounce in my run and feet thank me for it! This year we were put into different conferences. We traveled to Ewing Park to run and we had a pretty good chance of winning conference. Roosevelt was our biggest competition. They have some very quick girls who know how to run races. This race was the hardest race I've ever ran. First of all I have never ran at Ewing Park. Second this course has a lot of hills. Third it was conference I was very nervous. Fourth we had a lot of riding on our backs as a team, we really wanted to beat them! It was like a fat kid wants chocolate type of want!! The race was very difficult I started off really well and then the hills started to come and I became weak, but then a Roosevelt girl past me and I got really positive to stay with her pushing myself to the limit. I don't know how she did it but I couldn't go that fast because I knew this wasn't my race and I would end up dying. The last half mile always kills because you know that you're so close to being done that you want to go faster just to be done, but you physically can't, you put all the effort into the other 2 miles and somehow you find it in you. It was a hot day so I thought about an ice cold bottle of water and that made me go faster! I believe its called runners high. Its a feeling that you get that changes all of your thinking and it just pushes you like crazy! I finished strong like I always do. I don't always remember the last 5 minutes...I finish but then things just go blur and I fall I
guess. That's at least what my mom says. We ended up getting 2nd but I know we all tried our bests. I got 16th at conference.![]() |
| This is my Varsity team after running at Districts in Johnston. |
As you can tell from all of what I have said I am a very dedicated person to my team. I will miss them dearly next year! I have a big heart full of love and kindness. I love to be around people and I know they say the same about me. I can be a great listener and help you with any situation. I like to encourage people to do things because honestly it encourages myself to do better. I think about what I say to people and wish that I do the same for myself. I like being a role model. I grew up being a role model. I have three younger brothers and I the oldest on both sides of my family of cousins. Its tough sometimes when you don't do the right thing and they expected you to. I get down on myself about it and really wish that I don't. People make mistakes and as I have been growing up I've noticed that I have to make my own decisions and they are hard. Its my life and its time that I make them and not my parents.
